With remarkable ease, Kazimierz
Dzyga leads us into the mysteries of a world that is both fantasy
and light. His domes recall the translucid 'umbrellas' of certain
sea creatures. But is he depicting the future, or hacking out a
science fiction story? The eye is transported light-years hence —
while what it regards looks for all the world like the darting
images that inhabit our most private dreams. While technical
shortfalls may be praised in some quarters, Dzyga's elegant style is
deeply rooted in culture, full of spiritual references. An organic
universe undergoing perpetual change, the world according to Dzyga
is a disturbingly sensual one.
